The moose is the largest ungulate in North America, the bull weighing over 1000 pounds. It travels through the woods, regally surveying its domain, quite used to its position in the ecosystem.
The only predator clever enough to challenge this animal's position is the wolf. The wolf performs its job well eliminating the weak ones as well as controlling overgrowth by killing the young. The cow will protect her calf very effectively with her hooves and great strength.
